What we do
Every autumn the CHELG executive co-ordinates an annual training event for new chaplains, Chaplaincy assistants or even those thinking about a chaplaincy role in a university. If you would like to receive practical advice from experienced colleagues, visit different university chaplaincies and have the opportunity to meet people in similar roles, consider joining us. More details on the website.We also offer occasional study days, shaped by the issues and demands of the time. Our most recent event was “A Day of Reflection for Chaplains”, led by Stephen Hoyland of the Jesuit Spirituality team and was offered to the chaplaincy community for free by CHELG. Our website also contains recent webinars on ‘Grief, Bereavement and Hope’, ‘Welcome and Community’ and ‘Connecting and Celebrating’.
In addition, the group hosts an annual National Conference (residential), usually in January, where we aim to explore different themes on Christian ministry in Higher Education. If you would like to know more, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
